At Pulse Dance Studios we are committed to offering a wide variety of dance styles and classes. Classes are available for all skill levels and we teach students between 4-18 years old. Below is a brief summary of the types of classes we offer. Registration for the the 25’/26’ season begins in July!

  • HIP HOP

    Hip-hop dance is a vibrant street dance style rooted in hip-hop culture and music. It evolved from freestyle performances in the streets, incorporating elements from various dance styles like African dance, tap, and ballet. Hip-hop dance encompasses a wide range of styles, including breaking, locking, popping, and krumping, each with its own unique movement and rhythms.

  • Contemporary

    Contemporary dance is characterized by its freedom of movement, improvisation, and focus on exploring the connection between mind and body. It's not bound by rigid rules like some traditional dance forms, allowing for more expressive and personal interpretations.

  • ballet

    Ballet involves a rigorous training regime that builds strength, flexibility, and technique. Dancers learn a specific vocabulary of steps, positions, and movements, often described by French terms.

  • acro

    Acro dance, also known as acrobatic dance, is a dance style that blends classical dance techniques with the precision and athleticism of acrobatic movements. It is a unique fusion of dance and acrobatics, requiring strength, flexibility, coordination, and grace.

  • Jazz

    Jazz dance is a versatile and expressive dance form that combines elements of ballet, modern dance all set to the energetic rhythms of jazz music. It's characterized by its lively, syncopated movements, often incorporating isolations, loose torso movements, and a focus on improvisation and musicality.

  • tap

    is a form of dance that uses the sounds of tap shoes striking the floor as a form of percussion. It is often accompanied by music. Tap dancing can also be performed with no musical accompaniment; the sound of the taps is its own music.

  • pointe

    Pointe work in ballet is a technique where dancers stand and move on the tips of their toes, using special shoes. These shoes are designed with a structured toe box and a shank to support the foot and allow the dancer to balance and move on the tip of their toes

  • Boys Hip hop program

    The Boys Hip Hop class is offered in two levels/age groups. 1st grade -5th grade & 6th grade - 8th grade. Classes will meet once a week for 45 minutes and focus on a variety of styles and movement within hip hop. The boys hip hop program is divided into two semesters (Aug-Dec) and (Jan-May) The first semester will perform a hip hop themed Christmas number in the Christmas Recital. The second semester will perform in the end of year recital. Options to take both semesters are also available and encouraged but this option is available for students that have other sport commitments during the year.

  • heartbeat program

    The Special Needs program is a day time program. Classes will meet once a week for 45 minutes and focus on a variety of styles and movement. This program is divided into two semesters (Aug-Dec) and (Jan-May) The first semester will perform a Christmas number in the Christmas Recital. The second semester will perform in the end of year recital.
